Could farming help solve the climate crisis
Environmental and Social Sustainability Foundation (ESSF) addresses an urgent topic in food production:
Climate change is affecting smallholder farming families. ESSF develops and implements climate change coping strategies to support smallholders to adapt to climate change and to increase the climate resilience of entire farm landscapes. It is a program of public and private partners supporting the farming sector by generating practical and location-specific solutions in a participatory approach.
Climate Risks.
Rising temperatures, erratic and extreme rainfall, greenhouse gasses, and people abandoning their farms – climate change is more than just a problem, it is putting at risk the future of the entire food and farming sector.
How do we tackle the water crisis?
By encouraging forest conservation and re-afforestation efforts. With sufficient funding, ESSF aims at harvesting carbon dioxide through biological sequestration as a way of mitigating the effects of climate change and limiting global warming.
